For the time being, it was postponed until February 2027.
Xbox has confirmed that the new phantom action RPG, created by Playground Games, under the flag, was postponed until February 2027. The Xbox Chief Creative Officer, Matt Booty, on the Xbox podcast, stressed that if the Ghost Letter were to be sold as planned, it would crash with the Manhunter 6.
Xbox wrote on social media: “This year’s game is a great year for Xbox players, from Halo: The Evolution of Battles, War Machine: E-Day, Mission Call: Modern War 4, to Control: Resonance, Star Wars: Galactic Racers, and Rotting Cars 6. In order to plan our holiday season game release in the best way for players, we moved The Ghost Fable to February 2027, so that it would have access to the unique window it deserves. We are pleased to be able to give the players their first glimpse of The Ghost Fiction and the great content of our broader game formation at the Xbox Game Show on June 7th.”
There have been previous rumours that within Microsoft there has been a delay in the distribution of the Fable. The official social media account number of The Ghost Letter denied this claim, noting that it was still scheduled for the fall release window announced earlier. Last month ‘ s Giant Bomb reported that Microsoft was concerned that the Ghost Fiction might face up against the Man-hunter VI, which described the sale of the Man-hunter 6 as scheduled for 19 November 2026.
The report states: “It has been said that The Fable has been postponed internally. This does not mean that it will be launched next year. Apparently, they are still trying to get the release this year, but they are concerned about the sale of GTA 6. Therefore, if it were to be postponed until after the publication of GTA 6, it could be postponed until December, or even 2027. So, despite the fact that Xbox will have a lot of games this year, The Fable of the Ghost is still a big question mark.”
There are many other distribution dates that Microsoft needs to determine, such as Halo: The Evolution of the Battle and War Machine: E-Day. Xbox is bound to bring more information at the Summer Games, and The Ghost Fiction and War Machines: E-Day will certainly be visible, and fans may be looking forward to more information about InXile’s Revolution, Undead Labs’ Decorated Country 3 and even the small island showman’s OD.
